The Empty Tomb

When the night flees
With a piercing shriek in the throes of death
After catching the sight of sun’s thin fingernails,
She, fearless because of being in deep love,
To the graveyard.
She, a fool who believes the rumor that
Jesus will be alive again,
To the tomb where Jesus is buried.

The huge stone that only Goliath could move
Has been removed.
The tomb is empty and
Filled with scent of Jesus
With Jesus’ body nowhere in sight.
“The rumor was true!”
Her belief has been verified
Just like this.

When the fresh sun
Delivers the news of resurrection
To each tomb one by one
Like a paper boy,
The man who is walking down ahead
Showing his back to the tomb,
Is he the Lord?

“Thank you, my Lord!”
She, getting rained on
With the streaming-down sunlight and
Wiping Jesus’ five wounds joyfully
With her sizzling tears.

Now
Whose blessing will be the empty tomb?

Prison Break

“Learn and obey the rules very well, so you will know how to break them properly.” – Dalai Lama

To break the prison properly,
you need to be in there,
need to learn the prison system,
need to obey the prison rules
until you break it successfully.
You can’t just sit on the fence of the prison and
are pondering breaking the prison.
Why bother to break the prison?
Because it’s the prison!
After some time, you will get out of the prison.
How do you know you won’t die in the prison?
Well, the prison is not that bad.
You never skip meals.
You never skip sleeps.
You are protected from the world.
Prisoners are not good people, but
there are lots of bad people outside too.
Prison is kind of boring, but
that’s the price of comfy living, isn’t it?
So if you think the prison is kind of Heaven,
It will be your Heaven.
What are you gonna get from prison break?
Freedom, moron!
You want to die as a free man rather than
having a comfortable life inside prison walls?
For now, I am learning and trying to obey the prison rules.
When I am ready to break it,
I will think about whether to break or not.
Who would know?
I won’t have to break the prison at all…
So plunge your body, mind and spirit
into the tiny prison cell and
see what happens…

Not-So-Holy Thursday

It is just a day in which we are waiting for happy Friday.
It is Thursday that has nothing to attract attention.
Though it is just one Thursday in a year,
It’s become a holy day
By not-so-holy Christians.

Because of Jesus who
Washed filthy feet of disciples,
Because of Jesus who
Was betrayed by unfortunate Judas,
Because of Jesus who
Realized the human desire for revenge on God,
Because of Jesus who
Fulfilled God the Father’s wish for forgiveness by humans,

The Holy Thursday in which
Betrayal, vengeance, insult, disgrace, torture and
Forgiveness and love are all dissolved together,
Is being followed by Good Friday
For not-so-good Christians.

To me, it’s become again
A nothing-to-do-with-holy day in which
Friday is being waited for.
Really?
Then why do I write this spiritually grumbling stuff?

A Ridiculously Happy Daydreaming

She, pretty attractive, approached me.
Please, come back to our team!
I, pretty determined, snapped.
No way! My voice is too old.
She, pretty resolute, didn’t step back.
My voice is too old too.
I, pretty satisfied, shook my head.
She, pretty disappointed, showed her back.

She, pretty persistent, suddenly turned around.
What could possibly change your mind?
I, pretty perplexed, shrugged my shoulders.

If I said
I want you,
How would’ve she responded?

If she said
Do you want me?
How should’ve I responded?

If I join the team
With her in my pocket,
What would happen to the team?

I was ridiculously happy
In Sunday morning
Waiting for the holy Mass
Sitting at the very last pew.
