Tree Bark

The bark of a tree could be a temptation to
a guy who didn’t eat for 40 days in wilderness.

“I am not the bark of a tree.”
It is an insult for her but
It is a temptation for me.

“The setting sun is more beautiful.”
With a pathetic excuse
the temptation is dangling from the cliff.

It is neither a temptation
nor the bark of a tree.
Maybe it is a mirage reflected on the starving twilight…
